I was shopping in Madhataan for some sheet music. I ran
across the first song which I learned to play by ear,
a Fox-trot entitled Nola, so I purchased it in ordered to learn the actual
score.
The clerk at the register asked me, "Did Felix Arndt write any other memorable
pieces, or was this his only one, Nola?"
I replied, "I have no idea. The dedication reads, 'to my wife'!"
"Nola?" he shot back, wittily.
"That's her name.", I added, "If he'd had a mistress, perhaps he would've
written one more, 'to my mistress'?"
"Jeannine!" He retortled.
